Identities

Identities are frameworks that we use to understand ourselves, our experiences, and how we relate to the world and other people.

Identities are self-determined, but community input and recognition may be part of making that determination.

Identities that only take on meaning when other people are involved are roles. However, the boundary between role and identity can be blurry. These classifications are meant to be guidelines, not inflexible definitions.
